Meloni vows to build strong Italy in Christmas message
Premier says festive period time to recharge batteries
Premier Giorgia Meloni vowed to keep
working to make Italy stronger in her Christmas massage to the
Italian people on Tuesday.
"It's Christmas Eve and I want to wish you all a merry
Christmas," Meloni said in a video message posted on social
message.
"Some people will not be able to stay at home with their loved
ones at this time but will continue to be at everyone's service
- I am thinking of the armed forces, the police, the doctors and
all those who guarantee essential services for the citizens.
"Thank you for what you do and what you will do over the next
few days".
She also mentioned those who will be at the side of the lonely,
the sick and people in difficulty and in need.
"You are among the most beautiful parts of this nation and I
want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for what you do on
behalf of Italy because, as Flaubert wrote, the heart is a rich
that cannot be sold or bought, but only given as a gift," she
said.
"So best wishes to everyone, may this time be an opportunity for
hope, joy and serenity to look to the future with even greater
confidence and optimism.
"Let's recharge our batteries because an equally challenging
2025 awaits us to continue together to build a strong and
ambitious Italy, capable of looking far ahead and aiming ever
higher".
