Delays, distress over Jubilee work says Rome vicar general
'But Holy Year time for redemption of marginalized'
The Rome diocese's Vicar General,
Mons. Baldo Reina, told ANSA on Thursday that he was aware of
the distress experienced by many Romans over renovation work
ahead of the Jubilee Year 2025, expressing the hope that delays
in the completion of work being carried out in preparation for
the event would be made up for.
"I also feel the distress that at this time many Roman citizens
are experiencing, they are under everybody's eyes.
"We hope the delays we are seeing can be made up for as fast as
possible", Mons. Reina told ANSA.
"I seem to understand that the administration's intention, as
well as of Palazzo Chigi, is to respect the delivery time of
single construction sites", he noted-
However, he added, the Jubilee "is a time for grace, mercy,
forgiveness, but especially a time for the redemption of the
most marginalized".
