A 3500-year-old canteen, with pottery crockery still in place and housings for braziers, probably used by the nomadic peoples of the South Caucasus, has been discovered by an Italian team of archaeologists in Azerbaijan.
the extraordinary discovery was made at Tava Tepe by a team of archaeologists led by Professor Nicola Laneri, Professor of Archaeology and Art History of the Ancient Near East at the University of Catania, during a campaign conducted with the contribution of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Camnes Institute of Florence and the Azerbaijan Academy of Sciences.
The archaeologist will give a preview of the discovery on 12 July at the Naxos Archeofilm festival.
