Three regions poised to reques

The assemblies of three regions governed by centre-left alliances, Campania, Emilia-Romagna and Tuscany, are set to examine motions calling for a referendum on abolishing the central government's law bringing in 'differentiated autonomy'.
    The controversial measure approved by parliament last month will enable regions to request more power over how the tax revenues collected in their areas are spent Opposition parties say differentiated autonomy will worsen Italy's north-south divide, by favouring wealthier regions in the north.
    The 5-Star Movement (M5S,) the centre-left Democratic Party (PD) and other opposition groups have said they are going to collect signatures to hold a referendum on abolishing the law.
