Murillo: 'Samp an important club'

Jeison Murillo is “very happy to be back in Italy for an important club like Sampdoria” after flying in for his transfer from Valencia.

The former Inter defender only moved to Valencia in 2017 for €13m and spent the last six months on loan at Barcelona.

He arrived this evening in Genoa and spoke to Sky Sport Italia ahead of tomorrow’s medical.

“I am very happy to be back in Italy and we’ll see how it goes,” the 27-year-old Colombia international told Sky Sport Italia.

The deal is believed to be a €2m loan with obligation to buy at the end of the season for another €12m.

“Sampdoria are an important club. I hope to give my best. Forza Sampdoria.”

Report: De Ligt to Juve for €75m

According to De Telegraaf, Juventus have agreed a €75m transfer fee with Ajax for Matthijs de Ligt and it’ll be finalised over the next few days.

The paperwork is already being written up and the final details pored over by lawyers representing both clubs and agent Mino Raiola.

It was already reported this afternoon by De Telegraaf that a deal had been struck between Juve and Ajax, but the same Dutch paper now updates the story with a transfer fee of €75m.

There are also suggestions from Italian sites that De Ligt has already chosen the Number 4 Bianconeri jersey.

The centre-back turns 20 next month and had already agreed personal terms some weeks ago, rejecting proposals from PSG, Manchester United and Barcelona.

La Gazzetta dello Sport and Tuttomercatoweb have it as a five-year contract worth €12m per season plus bonuses, but crucially also an ever-changing release clause.

It'll go from €150m in 2020, adding another €10m every year until its conclusion.

It's predicted the formal announcement might not be until Monday, as Sky Sport Italia note the last details are being worked on.

There are multiple reports De Ligt is already in Monte Carlo with Raiola awaiting the all-clear to make the short journey to Turin, as he was given permission to skip Ajax training.
