Woman becomes the 65th person to be arrested over November 2023 riots that paralysed Dublin
More than 50 people have been charged as part of the investigation into the riots that rocked the country
Gardaí have arrested a woman over the riots that paralysed Dublin in November 2023.
The woman, who was detained on Friday morning, was the 65th person to be arrested over the riots, which took place in the north inner city over several hours on November 23, 2023 and caused millions of euro in damage. She can be held in a Dublin station for up to 24 hours.
And more than 50 people have now been charged as part of the investigation, led by officers from a special team based out of Store Street Garda Station in the city centre. Gardaí confirmed the latest arrest in a statement this evening.

It said: “Gardaí in Store Street have today, Friday 10th January 2025, arrested a woman in connection with the ongoing investigations into the serious public disorder events of 23rd November 2023, that occurred in Dublin city centre.
“The woman (30s) was arrested for an offence contrary to the Criminal Damage Act 1991 and is detained under section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984, at a Garda station in Dublin. This brings the number of arrests in this ongoing investigation to 65. Investigations are ongoing.”
Gardaí again appealed for the public’s help in the investigation. The force said: “An Garda Síochána continues to appeal to anyone with information about the events on that day, or anyone involved in organising or participating in these events, to contact the Garda investigation team at Store Street Garda Station at 01 666 8000, the Garda Confidential Line at 1800 666 111, or any Garda station.”
The arrest comes more than two months after Gardaí issued images of some 99 people of interest in their investigation – although the woman detained was not one of them, sources say.
They also stressed that the people in the images could be either ruled in or out of the investigation into the large-scale disturbances that rocked north inner city Dublin. It’s understood most of the people in the images have now been traced.
