Former Footballer of the Year Steven McDonnell has given a sage piece of advice to players all over the country currently enduring the arctic conditions.

But Armagh legend McDonnell had his own way of combatting cold feet in the current awful weather conditions.

The brilliant All Star footballer and All-Ireland winner took to ‘X’ to offer some badly needed advice that every player all over the country can call on.

McDonnell said: “A wee tip for anyone out training or playing games in these cold days/nights. Rub a small bit of deep heat into your feet. Worked wonders for me. It’s a game changer. #GAA #Football #Sport.”

The Sigerson Cup is currently ongoing, with the Fitzgibbon Cup and other college competitions due to throw-in over the coming week.

County teams across the country are also playing challenge games. ahead of the start of the League with hundreds of players already back in training.

McDonnell's hint could help them all. 'Deep Heat' to beat the deep freeze
