Waste collection trucks and car damaged in blaze at Cork industrial estate as investigation launched
Six units of Cork City Fire Brigade responded to the scene after the alarm was raised at approximately 6.30pm
Gardai and fire services were called into action on Saturday after several waste collection trucks and a car were destroyed in a large fire which broke out at an industrial estate in Cork.
The alarm was raised at around 6.30pm this evening after huge clouds of smoke were seen coming from the Sarsfield Court Industrial Estate, just off the Upper Glanmire road on the outskirts of Cork city
Six units of Cork City Fire Brigade responded to the incident and the fire was quickly brought under control before it could spread to adjoining industrial units.

It is understood that five waste collection trucks and a car which had been parked close to the facility were destroyed in the blaze. No injuries have been reported.
Members of the Cork City Fire Brigade remain at the scene this evening to dampen down the area and members of the public have been urged to use caution in the area.
Cork City Fire Brigade shared images from the scene which show firefighters using two high-powered hoses to contain the blaze, which we can see has engulfed a number of vehicles.
Alongside the photos, the Fire Brigade wrote in a message shared on social media: "We currently have 6 units dealing with a commercial fire in Glanmire, please use caution in the area."
Speaking to CorkBeo, Victor Shine from Cork City Fire Brigade confirmed that Gardai are investigating the cause of the fire.
"The fire was brought under control quite quickly and teams are just dampening down now. I believe five trucks and a car were damaged in the incident," he told the outlet.
"There was no structural damage - the blaze was confined to a yard in the area. There were no injuries. Gardaí are trying to find the cause of the fire."
