Man, 30s, arrested on suspicion of murder over death of Mirjana Pap
A man aged in his 30s was arrested on Friday morning on suspicion of murder and is currently detained at a Garda station in the Meath/Westmeath Division
Gardaí investigating the death of Mirjana Pap have arrested a man aged in his 30s on suspicion of murder.
On Sunday, December 29, 2024, Gardaí launched a missing person appeal for 58-year-old Mirjana, who was from Croatia but had been living in Athlone, Co Westmeath, but this was sadly stood down on Monday following a major search when her body was found on land in Roscommon.
The case of her death was upgraded to murder on New Year’s Eve after a post-mortem carried out at University Hospital Galway established she died from an assault.

On Friday, January 3, Gardaí investigating Mirjana’s death arrested a man aged in his 30s on suspicion of murder.
He is currently detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984 at a Garda station in the Meath/Westmeath Division.
A Garda spokesperson confirmed that investigations are ongoing.
