New Derry City manager Tiernan Lynch believes the sky is the limit for the Candystripes in 2025.

Lynch is tasked with getting Derry City back on track after missing out on the league title and losing the FAI Cup final in 2024.

He succeeded Ruaidhri Higgins a month ago and is busy reshaping the squad ahead of their opening league game away to champions Shelbourne on February 14.

Ex-Larne boss Lynch said: “I hope it’s a very exciting 2025. I’m never going to sit and make promises on where this club is going to finish and what it’s going to do.

“But I genuinely believe this club can achieve whatever it wants. The only promises we will make is that during 2025 we will leave everything at this club to try and bring the success it deserves.

“I’m looking forward to getting in and among the players and the fans. I just hope and pray they get in behind us and come out in their numbers. If they do, we can go on and achieve great things.”
