Katie McCabe has been enjoying spending Christmas in the Australian sunshine with her partner, Arsenal teammate Caitlin Foord.

Taking to social media, McCabe shared a photo of herself and Foord wearing bikinis as they posed for a snap in the clear blue ocean.

The Ireland captain captioned the post: "Merry Christmas x" as she shared the image of the loved-up couple to her 409,000 Instagram followers.

McCabe's post has received dozens of comments, with Robbie Keane and his wife Claudine both wishing the beaming couple a happy Christmas.

Katie's Ireland teammate Grace Moloney jokingly asked "Are you going for a swim?" With McCabe replying "Forgot my donut."

Foord also posted photos of the couple's trip to Australia, sharing snaps of herself and McCabe enjoying the beautiful weather with her family.

Arsenal teammates McCabe and Foord went public with their relationship earlier this year. Teammates since 2020, McCabe and Foord were famously on opposing sides as Australia beat Ireland 1-0 in the opening game of the 2023 FIFA World Cup.

The Ireland skipper was unable to lead the Girls in Green to a second successive tournament however, as Wales bested Ireland in a play-off at the Aviva Stadium earlier this month.

That game proved to be Eileen Gleeson's final match as head coach, and in the aftermath of her departure, McCabe sent the following message to Gleeson:

"Thank you so much for everything Eileen, you have given us so many special memories and brought me personally so much happiness again playing for Ireland. I want to wish you the best for whatever comes next for you."
