Couple killed in Blanchardstown hit and run named as heartbroken sister pays tribute
Named locally as Georgina, 39, and Anthony, 40, Hogg, the couple were both killed in the hit and run incident that happened on St Stephen’s Day in Blanchardstown, West Dublin.
The heartbroken sister of a woman killed in a horror hit and run incident along with her husband has led tributes to the 39-year-old saying: “I’ll always mind your babies, absolutely heartbroken.”
Named locally as Georgina, 39, and Anthony, 40, Hogg, the couple were both killed in the hit and run incident that happened on St Stephen’s Day in Blanchardstown, West Dublin.
A suspect in the incident was arrested after he presented himself at Blanchardstown Garda Station later in the evening.

The man in his 40s, is currently detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984 at a Garda station in Dublin.
The deceased couple, who have two children, are from the Blanchardstown area. It is understood they got married in recent years.
Georgina was pronounced dead at the scene, while her husband Anthony (Anto) was rushed to hospital but later died from his injuries.
The horror incident happened at around 5.45pm involving a car and four pedestrians. Two pedestrians who were present at the scene were uninjured.
The driver of the car failed to remain at the scene but has since been arrested. In a heartbreaking post on social media, Georgina’s sister Katie Moore wrote: “I’ll always mind your babies, absolutely heartbroken.
“Thanks for all the texts and calls. As you can imagine as a family we are absolutely broken-hearted, but if anyone knows anything please come forward I beg,” Katie wrote.
Heartbroken friends also paid tribute to the couple with one writing: “Georgina and Anto will be missed so very much by so many people. May they rest in eternal blessed peace. Such an awful shock,” while another wrote: “Such sweet, kind beautiful people, I am so sorry.”
“So devastating, they were the nicest people you could meet,” another wrote.
Deputy Ruth Coppinger, People Before Profit-Solidarity TD for Dublin West also expressed her condolences with the couple's families.
"More carnage on the roads in Dublin 15," she wrote on X. "Deepest sympathies to the families of two people killed in Blanchardstown. Let's hope the person responsible is brought to justice."
Meanwhile, gardai continue to appeal to anyone who may have witnessed this collision to contact them.
Any road users or pedestrians who were in the vicinity of Blanchardstown Road North, between 5pm and 6pm on Thursday, December 26, and have camera footage (including dash-cam) are asked to make this available to investigating Gardaí.
