Christmas Eve supermarket opening hours for Dunnes, Tesco, Aldi, SuperValu and Lidl
On Christmas Eve, shops across Ireland will be bustling with shoppers checking off their festive lists. But don't leave it too late, as many supermarkets are closing earlier than normal.
Christmas is nearly upon us and if you're not already ticking off your festive checklist, now would be a good time to get organised. Food and drink are at the heart of many celebrations, and whether your hosting or contributing, supermarkets play a key role in getting stocked up.
Today, shops across Ireland will be bustling with shoppers checking off their Christmas lists. Even the most organised of households will probably need to nip out to pick up some last-minute supplies.
With this in mind, shops have issued a reminder to customers not to leave it too late, as many have altered their opening hours for Christmas Eve - with some closing early.

Dunnes
Dunnes Stores is a favourite for Christmas essentials. While the exact opening hours will depend on your location, most stores will open on Christmas Eve at 7am and close early at 6pm

Tesco
Tesco offered extended opening hours during the festive season with some select larger stores open until midnight in recent days.
On Christmas Eve, most stores are expected to open early at 7am and also close early at 7pm.
All Tesco stores will close for Christmas Day. Some will remain closed for St Stephen's Day while others will reopen on the 26th from 10am until 8pm. Find your local store’s opening hours here.
Aldi
Aldi stores nationwide will be closed on Christmas Day and St Stephen’s Day, while Christmas Eve will see the supermarket close early at 7pm.

Lidl
Lidl will also close their stores nationwide on Christmas Day and St Stephen's Day. On Christmas Eve, they will close early at 6pm.

SuperValu
Supervalu branches are each run individually and operate with varying opening hours over Christmas. On Christmas Eve, stores will generally open from 7am until 8pm and reopen on St Stephen's Day at 10am and close early at 6pm.
