Mikel Arteta provides worrying

Mikel Arteta has expressed his concern over the injury sustained by Arsenal star Bukayo Saka during their commanding 5-1 victory against Crystal Palace.

The 23-year-old England star was substituted midway through the first half after seemingly injuring his hamstring while delivering a cross. Following treatment, he went straight down the tunnel, fueling speculation about the seriousness of the injury.

Arsenal face a busy fixture list in the weeks ahead with the Christmas and New Year schedule, and Saka was spotted leaving Selhurst Park on crutches.

Speaking post-match, Arteta said of Saka: "We are pretty worried about Saka’s injury.

"He grabbed his hamstring and couldn’t continue. He will have to be assessed but we are pretty worried, yes."

Speaking to Match of the Day, he added: "He felt something. It is too early to assess him. It was a precaution with him right now."

While Arsenal will be sweating on Saka with plenty of big games on the horizon, Gabriel Jesus' return to form has come at an ideal time for Arteta and the Gunners.

The Brazilian striker scored twice to end his 11-month Premier League goal drought in Saturday's win - just days after plundering a hat-trick in the Gunners' 3-2 triumph over Palace in the Carabao Cup quarter-finals.

He said: "Obviously the first goal was very important early. The way we started, the full team was really ready to play well and fight. They have a strong team and quality players and we know it is always difficult to come here. We did the job and I am very happy with the goals as a number nine, I know the pressure is always on to score. I am happy but the win, the three points, was massive today."
