A man aged in his 20s has been injured following the discharge of a firearm in Dublin.
Gardaí responded to reports of a shot fired in Clondalkin around 9:15pm last night. The victim was subsequently rushed to Connolly Memorial Hospital, where he received treatment for non-life-threatening injuries.
An investigation is underway and gardaí are appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident in the Shancastle Close or Shancastle Avenue area to come forward.

“Gardaí are appealing for witnesses following the discharge of a firearm in Dublin 22 last night, Friday 20th December 2024,” said a spokesperson for An Garda Síochána.
“Gardaí responded to reports of a shot fired in the Shancastle Close/Shancastle Avenue area of Clondalkin at approximately 9.15pm.
“A man (20s) subsequently presented at Connolly Memorial Hospital where he was treated for non-life-threatening injuries,” he confirmed.
“The scene has since been examined by the local Scenes of Crime Unit. No arrests have been made at this time. Investigations are ongoing.”
