Tyson Fury could be stripped of half of his earnings from Oleksandr Usyk bout
The pair face a rem-match tonight.
Two-time heavyweight champion Tyson Fury may forfeit half of his massive £75 million fight purse for his highly anticipated rematch with Oleksandr Usyk because of tax deductions.
The 'Gypsy King' will aim to even the series at one win each when he faces the Ukrainian in a showdown on Saturday night in Riyadh.
He experienced the first loss of his professional career against Usyk last May. Although he found early success in the fight, the Brit began to lose momentum after the halfway mark and came close to being stopped in the ninth round. From that point, he struggled to regain control of the match and ultimately suffered a split-decision defeat.

After becoming the first undisputed heavyweight champion of the world since Lennox Lewis back in 1999, Usyk has likely secured 50 per cent of the total £150m purse heading into Saturday's sequel. While Fury will take the other half - that will soon be decimated when HMRC considerations are taken into account.
With Fury set to pocket £70m from the fight, the 36-year-old can expect to pay an estimated £35,250,000 in deductions, according to data collected by JeffBet - with his take-home money approximately £39,750,000.
Speaking about the potential jaw-dropping financial loss for Fury, a spokesperson for Jeff Bet said: "If you are a resident in the UK you have to pay tax on overseas earnings in the same way, and that remains the same no matter how much someone might earn. Good tax advice is always important and in this case you can be sure the Fury camp will have looked at an agreement that would be the most beneficial."
While Fury will be disappointed by the financial loss, the Brit remains as focused as ever and has cut a pretty serious figure all week so far - until Thursday night. The brit launched a foul-mouthed rant at his upcoming opponent after an 11-minute intense staredown.
The pair had to be pulled apart after they locked eyes for what felt like an enternity before Fury exploded into a tirade of abuse at the WBA, WBC and WBO heavyweight champion at their press conference. Fury, 36, said: “He’s getting f***ed, I was 50 per cent last time, you were the best you’ve ever been and you still couldn’t do s***.
“You couldn’t do f*** all. Don’t you be afraid you rabbit looking f***er. I won’t leave you alone. You ugly little b******. I’m butchering you. You are going to wake up in the hospital you clown. You got a gift decision you clown.
I’m the man, I’m the f***ing champion. You ugly rat b******. You are a rat. I’ll beat you seven days a week.” Usyk - who seemed unfazed by the abused - just replied to tell Fury to “not be afraid” and that he “wouldn’t leave him alone”.
