Davina McCall has released another major update on her health following her surgery for a brain tumour.

The former Big Brother host, 57, underwent a six-hour surgery earlier this month to remove a 14mm benign brain tumour. She found the health scare during routine scan a few months ago while she was giving a talk for a menopause company. Davina later admitted that she was blindsided after the tumour was discovered after believing she would "ace" her health scan.

Following her surgery, Davina is now recovering at home - but she has shared a new update with fans as they continue to send her messages of support and love. In her latest update, Davina revealed that she gave her boyfriend, Michael Douglas, a huge scare when she first woke up from her invasive and intense six-hour surgery.

It wasn't only Michael who she frightened upon waking up, it was also her surgeon Kevin O'Neill after he performed the procedure. The My Mum, Your Dad host admitted that she was 'very confused' for a lengthy period when she first came to after her surgery.

Speaking to her loyal and supportive followers on Instagram, Davina shared: "Hi, I thought I'd do a little catch-up post, and I'm gonna out my surgeon. He is called Kevin O'Neill and he has been amazing. Obviously, trying to find somebody that knew about colloid cysts and stuff was quite a challenge, and Kevin is very experienced as a neurosurgeon, and he done another colloid cyst this year and he has been brilliant.

"He got the whole thing and I know I gave him and Michael a bit of a scare straight after the op because I was so confused, but I am doing so well now. I just wanted to thank him and all the team for taking such really really good care of me thank you. And, yeah I'm gonna take you and your Mrs out for an amazing dinner Kevin," Davina added.

It comes after Davina recently said that the wife of her late father Andrew has been her "stabilising" force throughout her journey with ill health. In a heartfelt Instagram update, Davina shared her gratitude for Gaby and stepmothers in general, describing her as "an amazing rock" and affectionately calling her "a big dose of vitamin G."

Speaking ina video message filmed from her bedshortly after the operation, the star said: "I'm being brilliantly looked after by Michael and my mum. I'd quickly like to say big up the step-mums. I don't really say thank you to Gaby enough. She's been an amazing rock my whole life.

"I was talking yesterday to somebody, I said I've got a massive dose of vitamin G. I think when something like this happens I just feel so grateful. I've always been grateful, I've been really lucky in my life."

She began tearing up as she continued her message. "I feel unbelievably grateful in my life right now, so thanks for everything. I’m on the mend, I'm resting, I'm sleeping loads and I feel really good. I just feel very lucky."

The update came after Davina revealed she has bravely chosen to continue filming her weekly podcast with her partner Michael despite being in recovery. She launched her brand-new show, titled Begin Again last month and said she was 'adamant' that finding the brain tumour would not halt the podcast's progress.

They had initially revealed the show might be on a hiatus following the surgery. They released an update on her condition days after the op. In a chat recorded before she went under the knife, Davina told listeners Michael would be taking over her social accounts.

He said at the time: she would be "off grid" until she's fully recovered. In a caption of the video, he said: "Hey everyone. Michael here. @davinamccall will be "off grid" for a bit while she recovers from this brain operation. She is in great shape and in very good hands.

"I'll do the odd update from her account here for anyone interested. I'm sure she'll read all the comments when she's able to so feel free to send love [heart emoji] . The support of people is amazingly powerful. Have a great day everyone. Michael xxx."
