When is the RTE Late Late Toy Show and what is the theme as major change announced
The RTE Late Late Toy Show airs later this year, with Patrick Kielty back as host. It comes as a trailer teases a magical 'Toy Show Day', which may drop hints on what theme to expect.
The countdown to the Late Late Toy Show is officially on, and excitement is building in homes across Ireland for what is sure to be one of the biggest TV events of the year.
Preparations are in full swing for the much-anticipated Christmas extravaganza, which will once again be hosted by Patrick Kielty. After a successful debut leading the Toy Show last year, the Co Down man is set to bring his signature charm and energy back to the studio for this iconic event.
Many viewers will be tuning into RTE tonight expecting to see the show, as it traditionally airs on the last Friday of November. However, in a major change, this year's Toy Show will be broadcast slightly later, on Friday, December 6.
While the theme for the year's show remains a closely guarded secret, RTE has dropped a 90-second trailer which may drop hints as to what to expect on the night.

The clip features Patrick at 'Campaign HQ', flanked by his team of enthusiastic young strategists, brainstorming how to turn 'Toy Show Day' into a full-fledged holiday. The children of Ireland want more than just one night of magic - they’re petitioning for an entire day dedicated to the joy and wonder of the Toy Show. The trailer concludes with the team arriving at the 'Department of Christmas', hoping their ambitious plea reaches the right audience.
This comes after Patrick teased fans with a cryptic "first look" at this year's Toy Show. Taking to his Instagram, the host was all wrapped up in a jacket and hat as he entered the hallways of RTE. Approaching a certain room, Patrick said: "Secret mission alert, from an undisclosed location. I am about to enter here..."
The popular comic panned the camera to show a door marked: "Elves at work!". He continued: "For the first look at this year's toys for the Toy Show, and this is the point where the phone has to go off."
As Patrick entered the top secret room, he promptly turned off his phone so as to not give away too much ahead of the show. Signing off the video, he shouted: "They won't let me see."
The Late Late Toy Show airs at 9.35pm on December 6 on RTE One and RTE Player.
