Former All-Ireland winner Vikki Wall was the hat-trick hero for North Melbourne on Saturday as they cruised into the AFL Grand Final.

Wall has returned to Australia after joining Ireland's Rugby 7s team in their bid to qualify for the Paris Olympics.

And the Meath star has carried on where she left off in AFL.

Wall set up the opener for North Melbourne thanks to a well-judged pass from 50 metres into Jasmine Garner.

The Dunboyne woman then helped herself to two goals in the third quarter as the Kangaroos built up a commanding lead over Port Adelaide.

But the best was yet to come as the 2021 All-Ireland winner kicked a superb goal from outside the 50 metre line that took one bounce before going through the posts.

Wall's North Melbourne will face a Brisbane side in next Saturday night's Grand Final that includes Tipperary's Orla O'Dwyer and Dublin's Jennifer Dunne in their ranks.

The Brisbane Lions are the defending champions after beating North Melbourne in last year's final.
