Katie Taylor vs Amanda Serrano: Predictions for biggest rematch in women's boxing history
Katie Taylor vs Amanda Serrano

Katie Taylor and Amanda Serrano go to war once again on Friday night as they collide in the biggest rematch in women's boxing history.

Two and a half years on from their epic bout at Madison Square Garden, which Taylor won via split-decision, the pair clash at the AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, on the Mike Tyson vs Jake Paul card.

The Bray Bomber defends her super-lightweight belts for the first time after winning them off Chantelle Cameron last November and both fighters have weighed in at the same weight - 137.4lbs - for the rematch.

This is Taylor's first fight in almost a year, but she believes the break has worked in her favour. Here are some predictions for the fight:

Michael Conlan

"It's a tough fight, Serrano is a tough fight, I think it's tougher than the last one. The fact it's at 140, I favour Katie even more. That's a good advantage for Katie but Serrano is an unbelievable fighter. She can punch very hard, very fit, very tough and also has great speed too so it's a great match up.

"If we have anything like the first one, then we have a potential fight of the year again. I just hope Katie comes out on top."

Jason Quigley

"Of course I'm an Irishman and I've been with Katie for many training sessions on the national team as an amateur, I back her to the very hilt and I really wish her well.

"I hope that she can go in there and pull off the victory but I do believe that this is going to be her biggest and toughest test to date.

"My head is telling me Amanda Serrano will nick this fight, my heart is telling me Katie will win it out of sheer heart and determination like she showed in the first fight so I'm going to go with my heart and say Katie Taylor wins.

"Serrano moved up a lot in weight to fight Katie, she hurt Katie and she rocked Katie in that fight.

"A lot of people have this old school mindset and this old kind of boxing myth that the lighter you are, the stronger you are. I think it's the opposite.

"We saw Serrano move up in weight and I think she carried more power at the weight above.

"Look at her last five fights, they've all gone the distance but her last fight she did fight at 136 ½ and she won by knockout.

"A lot of people will think this is in Katie's favour, but I believe Serrano carries more power at this weight than she does at featherweight."

Shauna O'Keeffe (sparring partner of Taylor's)

"I believe we will see the best version of Katie Taylor on Friday. The work was unbelievable. She's boxing fantastic and feels really strong."

Skye Nicolson (featherweight world champion)

"I will always back Katie Taylor. Breaking down the first fight and the last couple of years, I feel Taylor has had better performances and against better standard of opponents.

"She has also been fighting at the weight whereas Serrano has gone back down to featherweight. I haven't been impressed by Serrano's performances either, so I will say Taylor by a wider points decision than last time."
