Blow for Davy Fitzgerald and Antrim as the Clare legend gears up for 2025 season
Davy Fitzgerald took over from Darren Glesson in Antrim amid much excitement in the Saffron County, having spent two years with Waterford and previously led Wexford to a Leinster title.
Antrim Joe McDonagh Cup winning skipper Conor McCann has retired from inter-county hurling.
The Kickhams Creggan man will be a loss to Davy Fitzgearld’s side as the Clare All-Ireland winning player and manager looks to build a winning side.
McCann played for 14 seasons for Antrim after making his debut back in 2011 and won two McDonagh Cups, captaining the side in 2020.

He was also named McDonagh Cup Player of the Year in a superb 2020 season.
McCann was also a player rep for the Gaelic Players' Association (GPA).
A GPA statement read: "Conor has been a long time advocate for his fellow players as a GPA squad rep in Antrim. We wish you the best for the future Conor and thank you for all you have done for hurling and for players."
