Coleen Rooney faces huge I'm A Celebrity setback as stars begin to arrive in Australia
Coleen Rooney is among the celebrities who are thought to be competing on the latest series of I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out of Here! when it returns on ITV in just a week
Rumoured I'm A Celebrity campmate Coleen Rooney has suffered a blow ahead of the show's return next weekend.
Coleen, 38, is expected to head into the jungle in Australia alongside a host of other celebrities for long-running ITV show. It's likely that she'll be supported on the outside by her husband Wayne Rooney and their four children.
Ahead of the official line-up being unveiled by ITV, there's been speculation about Coleen's potential stint. It includes rumours that she could be exempt from some bushtucker trails due a health issue and that she's believed to have secured the largest deal in the show's history.
Coleen had initially been the favourite to win the new series of I'm A Celebrity and had odds of 4/1 through Ladbrokes just a week ago. However, over the last week her odds have been slashed and now stand at 10/1 with the bookmaker.
McFly 's Danny Jones, 38, Coronation Street cast member Alan Halsall, 42, and Love Island finalist Maura Higgins, 33, are now among the favourites to win instead. Those three rumoured campmates have overtaken Coleen in the odds, with 5/2, 5/1 and 6/1 respectively from Ladbrokes.
Nicola McGeady of Ladbrokes said: "We thought Coleen would be loved by punters, but that's not the case as the show nears." Nicola added: "Instead punters believe the likes of [Danny] and [Maura] are the ones to beat."
Following behind Danny, Alan and Maura in the odds is content creator GK Barry, 25, who is currently fourth to win at 6/1. Coleen is next at 10/1, just like former Strictly Come Dancing pro Oti Mabuse, 34, and radio host Dean McCullough, 32. Presenter Melvin Odoom (20/1), TV star Richard Coles (16/1), N-Dubz 's Tulisa Contostavlos (12/1), former professional boxer Barry McGuigan (20/1) and Loose Women panelist Jane Moore (33/1) are also in the odds at the moment.
Some celebrities have already arrived in Brisbane, a week before the launch of the new series next weekend. They include Danny who was the first celebrity to land at Brisbane Airport on Sunday, after having flown in from London. He teased at the airport that he was in Australia to work on a solo album.
Corrie cast member Alan - best known for playing Tyrone Dobbs -was later spotted at the airport. Asked his his close pal and colleague Andy Whyment, who was runner-up on I'm A Celebrity in 2019, had given him any advice, a grinning Alan teased upon his arrival: "I wouldn't take any advice from Andy Whyment about anything."
The new series of I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here starts on ITV next Sunday (November 17) at 9pm.
