James McClean reveals plans to watch former side Derry City in FAI Cup final
The former Ireland international will be in Dublin.
James McClean has revealed he will be in attendance to watch his former side Derry City in the FAI Cup final on Sunday afternoon.
The former Ireland international captained Wrexham to a 1-0 win over Mansfield Town today in League One with Ryan Barnett’s goal, in the sixth minute, the difference between the teams.
Wrexham sit third in the league after 14 games, five points off top spot Wycombe as they look to continue climbing the English football league tables under the ownership of Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney.

McClean’s former side Derry City face Drogheda United in the FAI Cup final on Sunday with a 3pm kick-off at the Aviva Stadium and he will be there to watch.
The 35-year-old posted on Instagram: “Three points in the bag, and off to Dublin to watch Derry in the cup final tomorrow.”
He made 79 appearances from 2008 to 2011 for Derry before making the move to the Premier League to join Sunderland under manager Martin O’Neill.
Derry booked their win in tomorrow’s cup final after beating Bohemians 2-0 with two goals from Michael Duffy.
McClean was in the news recently after being heckled by Birmingham City fans during Wrexham’s 3-1 defeat at St Andrew’s.
"They have nothing in their whole imperial arsenal that can break the spirit of an Irishman who doesn't want to be broken," McClean posted on social media after the game, quoting Bobby Sands.
"P.S. Fair play to the one old steward that held them all back from getting over the 2ft advertising hoardings."
