Rieko Ioane took another dig at Johnny Sexton after helping New Zealand to a 23-13 victory over Ireland in Dublin on Friday night.

Ioane was the pantomime villain at the Aviva Stadium after Sexton revealed in his recently-published autobiography 'Obsessed' that the All Blacks star told him 'enjoy your retirement, you c***' after last year's World Cup quarter-final.

With Sexton now retired from the sport, Ioane came face to face with the Ireland great's old teammates in Dublin.

But far from shying away from the attention, the 27-year-old led the All Black's Haka before the match got underway.

And while Ioane was hit with a crunching tackle from Sexton's old Leinster teammate Garry Ringrose in the first half, it was the Kiwi who got the last laugh again as New Zealand capitalised on an error-strewn Ireland performance to record their first win in Dublin in eight years.

After the match, Ioane could not resist another dig at Sexton. Posting a number of pictures from the match on Instagram, Iona wrote, "Put that in the book", along with the joker card.

Speaking ahead of Friday's match, Ioane insisted that the World Cup incident was a distant memory.

“There’s stuff that happens on the field that is all part of the game," said the 27-year-old.

"I didn’t think too much of it and that’s where I am at the moment. It was such as proud moment for the nation and for us as a team. You can’t look back too far and you have to focus on what’s ahead.

"The only thing we can take from that was how they played and how we played. We have to be able to remove the emotion and focus solely on the performance this Friday."
