The search for a missing Wexford teenager has ended tragically following the discovery of a body this afternoon.
Brandon Roche, aged 19, was last seen during the early hours of Saturday, October 26. After reports emerged that he had entered the water, a large-scale search operation was immediately launched.
For the past ten days, multiple agencies, including the RNLI, the Garda Water Unit, Slaney Search and Rescue, the Coast Guard, Civil Defence, Wexford K9 Search and several helicopters, coordinated efforts alongside hundreds of local volunteers to search the water and shoreline around Wexford Quay.
This afternoon’s discovery brought a heartbreaking end to the search, with search efforts officially stood down.

Following Brandon's disappearance, family relative Roisin Bierney created a GoFundMe campaign titled Help Bring Brandon Home. The fundraiser was set up to support the voluntary rescue organisations that have worked tirelessly in the search. Roisin expressed her deep gratitude, saying: "Firstly, we as the family and friends of Brandon wish to thank from the bottom of hearts every single person that has helped out over the last few days. We are especially grateful to the members of the voluntary Rescue organisations who have been with us since Sunday morning.
"We are setting up this Go Fund Me primarily to support the people of these organisations who have given so freely of their time to help us find Brandon. We appreciate each and every one of you so much. Thank you."
The GoFundMe campaign has seen an outpouring of support from the community and beyond, with over €16,000 raised at the time of writing. Hundreds of people have donated to thank those who searched tirelessly to bring him home.
