This comes as it was announced that businesses in Bantry town would receive financial support from the government for the costly repairs needed after the floods.
Blocked drains and torrential rain caused water to gush into storefronts, damaging the interiors of businesses in the town center.
The confirmation of financial support follows West Cork Fianna Fáil TD Christopher O'Sullivan’s statement this morning that he had contacted Tánaiste and party leader Micheál Martin, as well as other senior government officials, to ensure that help is provided to business owners.
The scheme would allocate an initial €5,000 for damage costs and an additional €15,000 pending property assessments.
