Max Holloway has revealed who he would place on MMA's Mount Rushmore, and it's bad news for Conor McGregor.

Former UFC featherweight champion Holloway has snubbed McGregor, instead naming Demetrious Johnson, Anderson Silva, Georges Saint Pierre and Forrest Griffin as his MMA GOAT's.

There's no room for UFC legend Jon Jones on the list either, despite many regarding Jones as the greatest fighter of all time, with his the only two blemishes on his MMA record being a disqualification and a no-contest.

"I would say Demetrious is definitely up there, Anderson Silva is there too, GSP and then you have to give it to Forrest Griffin because he helped put the UFC on the map," Holloway told Stake.

"That TUF Finale on Spike TV was huge for the UFC, so those are my guys for sure. Those four guys are absolute animals. When you talk about Demetrious Johnson, it seems insane to me how he is viewed just because he fought at 125 lbs. This 125-er would absolutely whoop your ass.

"A lot of bigger guys think they can hang with him, you get these influencers and social media personalities who go around screaming, 'I'm 260 bro, he's 125lbs. Brother, Demetrious Johnson would take your ACL and your arm home and then he would come back and cut your head off if he wanted to. You could do nothing about it, he's such a beast.

"I wish I was fighting during the time that GSP was around, I would have loved to have shared the Octagon with him. He's one of the greats, as was Anderson Silva - he was such a beast."

Explaining his decision, Holloway, who was beaten by McGregor when the pair fought in 2013, said that he took into consideration the lives of fighters outside the cage when making his picks.

"Some people might disagree with my Mount Rushmore, but I'm looking at the way these fighters carried themselves inside and outside of the Octagon, how they were ambassadors for the sport and for the company as well."

While the pair last fought in 2014, a rematch between McGregor and Holloway has long been touted with both men expressing interest in running it back on numerous occasions. But while Holloway has an upcoming featherweight title fight with Ilia Topuria at the end of October, McGregor's future remains uncertain.

The Irishman had been due to return to the octagon to fight Michael Chandler in June, however, McGregor pulled out of the fight with a toe injury.

Speaking about his future at Anthony Joshua v Daniel Dubois last week, McGregor said: "It will be 2025."

He continued: "We will see. My opponent that I had scheduled... it is what it is. I take it on board and rock on. My job is to go to the gym and be in shape. Whenever it is and wherever it is. I will be 100 per cent ready.

"I must get two fights in 2025. It's the promised land. Who knows (who the next opponent will be). It does not matter. Whoever, let's see. I like it to be Chandler. I wish him well and see where it goes."

McGregor also admitted he may not commit his future to the UFC after the final two fights of his contract. "I don't know. I don't think anyone knows. What happens afterwards, as I'm a free agent, I'm not sure," he added.
