Bryan Mbeumo says Brentford's breakneck starts to matches are no fluke.

Mbeumo struck after just 37 seconds against West Ham as the Bees scored in the opening minute for the third consecutive game, a Premier League record. Yoane Wissa began the hot streak when he scored after 22 seconds at Manchester City a fortnight ago, and last weekend Mbeumo netted in 23 seconds against Tottenham.

"We work a lot in training to score every time, whether it's a set piece or open play," said Mbeumo. "It's a lot of work and I do a lot of finishing during the training."

With Wissa sidelined for two months with an ankle injury, Fabio Carvalho started alongside Mbeumo and provided the assist for his fifth goal of the season.

"Obviously I miss him (Wissa), everybody's missing him," added Mbeumo. "He brings a lot of energy on the pitch with his ability. He is always positive, he is key for us. But he's good, and hopefully he's going to come back soon.

"Everybody has stepped up. Obviously there is a lot of competition. Everybody has to step up and show what they can do and it's good to play with other players as well and show you can adapt. It's good to play with Fabio as well. He's got good passes and a good vision of the game."

The Bees were unable to hang on to any of those early leads but this time they did at least pick up a point. Tomas Soucek swept home an equaliser as West Ham, still reeling from a 5-1 Carabao Cup defeat at Liverpool, salvaged something from a tough week.

"Tomas scored his goal and he was, as always, working for the team," said boss Julen Lopetegui. "I think that we need this kind of behaviour in the big matches. In the Premier League you have to play always with 11 players fighting for the team, having this kind of a high work-rate. I am happy for him because you need this kind of player to show the way."
