The shocking discovery was made at a recycling plant in south Dublin on Friday morning
A body has been found at a recycling plant in Dublin on Friday morning.
Gardaí are currently at the scene of the shocking discovery at the Panda recycling site in Ballymount in South Co Dublin.
The circumstances of the find are not yet fully established. Gardaí have sealed off the area and are awaiting forensic investigators to arrive at the scene.
It is understood the body is that of a white male and sources say Gardaí fear he died in a tragic incident.
Gardaí at this point do not believe his death to be suspicious, but a post-mortem examination is being done out of an abundance of caution.
Sources say Gardaí fear the man was sleeping rough and may have been picked up in a recycling truck before ending up in the plant.
"Gardaí are currently at the scene, in relation to the discovery of a body at a recycling centre in Ballymount, Dublin 24 this morning Friday 27th September, 2024.
"At approximately 6.40am this morning Gardaí were notified. The scene is currently preserved and the technical bureau have been requested to attend the scene."
