Alison Hammond was thrown into a fit of uncontrollable laughter as Dermot O'Leary took action after a live TV blunder shook things up in the studio.

Back at the helm of the ITV breakfast programme this Thursday, the stars were in high spirits as they teased what was ahead for viewers at home, presenting their usual timestamped "menu" to help them keep up to date.

But when the teaser appeared on screens, Alison, 49, urged viewers to pay attention, sending the show into chaos when they were seemingly left with very little time to take notes.

This prompted Dermot, 51, to take action as he tried to distract the camera away until the teaser was back on screens, leaving Alison, 49, in stitches.

Alison couldn't contain her laughter as she said: "Listen, if you're at home and you want to take a quick picture of our menu, take it right now." "Get your cameras ready, folks. Here it is", Dermot then warned, before standing in the middle of the studio. "We got it?", he then challenged.

Moments prior, Alison and Dermot announced they would be hosting their last This Morning instalment as a duo this Friday, as the former Big Brother star was due to enjoy a well-deserved break.

"It's quite sad that tomorrow is going to be our last show for some time", Dermot first said as the pair took to the helm of their show at 10am. To which Alison responded: "I know, I know, my last day. I'm going on holiday bubs, it's time!"

She then added: "Alison needs a break", which prompted Dermot to underline: "We all need a break." Alison then playfully nudged at her online trolls as she directly addressed viewers: "Even YOU need a break from me."

Several viewers reacted to the news over on X, otherwise known as Twitter. One penned: "Is Alison leaving for good ????", while another chipped in: "It's Alison's last day on #ThisMorning before she goes on a break!"

Much like her This Morning co-star Josie Gibson, Alison gained recognition by taking part in Big Brother 's third series in 2002 before landing a job as a reporter and presenter on the ITV show. Her TV credits also include a hosting position on Channel 4's The Great British Bake Off and Paul O'Grady 's For The Love Of Dogs.

Alison has since formed a fan-favourite duo with the X Factor 's Dermot on This Morning as the pair are known and loved for their antics on live TV.
