Ireland star scores a screamer against Liverpool - but there are no fans there to see it
Robbie Brady’s first-half goal has earned Preston a 1-0 win over Liverpool in a behind-closed-doors pre-season friendly.
Here’s hoping Preston North End’s social media team have secured footage of Robbie Brady’s winner against Liverpool in Friday’s behind-closed-doors pre-season friendly.
Because the description of the goal has us all wanting to see it.
According to the club’s X (formerly Twitter) account, Brady ‘scored an incredible 40-yard lob’ against a strong Reds side as Preston claimed a 1-0 win at the AXA Training Centre.
Liverpool fielded several first-team players, including Mo Salah, Conor Bradley and Dominik Szoboszlai in the tie, while former St Patrick’s Athletic goalkeeper Vitezslav Jaros started for the Anfield giants, fresh from his Euro 2024 campaign as Czechia’s third-choice net-minder.
According to the Preston website’s match report, Brady ‘scored the only goal of the game 27 minutes in with an incredible lob from all of 40 yards’.
It added that ‘Brady nicked the ball ahead of Conor Bradley and sent an audacious 40-yard lob over the head of Vítězslav Jaroš and it went in off the crossbar’.
