Roy Keane has recalled how he once ended up in an adult entertainment club while on Republic of Ireland duty.

The Manchester United legend says himself and a number of his teammates snuck out of the team hotel while on a trip to London. Keane added that he used to love sneaking out while away on trips with with either the Boys in Green on the Red Devils.

"Did you ever sneak out with the team, I used to love that," Keane asked Gary Neville, Jill Scott and Ian Wright on the latest episode of The Overlap. “We’ve done it with United and we done it with Ireland.

"You are going back on the bus and you are at an official function. You ask if anyone is sneaking out.

"So about ten players go yeah, yeah. So you say we’ll meet in ten minutes by a certain lift and then only two or three turn up! I used to love all that stuff.

“We done it one night in Ireland. I think we we doing something at the Irish Embassy. It might have been before the 1994 World Cup.

"Back to the hotel and a few of us snuck out, the Irish lads. I think we ended up in Stringfellows. What night we had. Brilliant night.”

Keane also spoke about his time as Ipswich manager, joking that he knew his team would win 'f*** all' after they all arrived back on time from a night out during pre-season.

"I think it might have been at Ipswich and we went away for pre-season and I gave the lads a night out," he explained.

"The next morning I came down and I was talking to the staff. Just say they had to be back by 2am and I asked was everyone back on time? They said yeah.

"And I said: ‘We’re going to win f*** all with these’. They were all back on time! I don't want them back on time, I want them to break the rules. Jump in the pool naked. Do something.

"They were all back at two o’clock. They are no good to us. Go for it.”
