Dramatic moment as hot favourite runs off track with win at his mercy in Killarney
Thankfully, the horse and rider both appear to be ok.
There were dramatic scenes at Killarney racetrack this evening as a hot favourite ran off the track right at the death with the win at his mercy.
Heavy favourite Green Triangle (11/10) was cruising to victory in the 5.20 at Killarney this evening and held a comfortable 2/3 length lead with the finish line in sight.
With the win seemingly in the bag, the horse got distracted and crashed through the side-railings in a bizarre moment that handed victory to 6/1 Lambourn.

Thankfully, both Green Triangle and jockey Wayne Hassett appear to have emerged from the incident unscathed.
