Ireland striker Sinclair Armstrong is close to joining Bristol City from QPR.

Armstrong made his senior international debut against the Netherlands in the Euro 2024 qualifier in Dublin last September.

The Dubliner scored his first goal for Ireland's under-21 side two days later against San Marino.

Having started as a schoolboy with Cherry Orchard, he joined QPR from Shamrock Rovers four years ago. He scored four goals in 40 appearances for the Loftus Road club last term.

Armstrong, 21, extended his contract with QPR this summer but Bristol City approached the club last week about signing the promising forward and talks are ongoing, with the Robins confident that a deal can be struck.
