Celtic warned that they won't

Celtic will have to up their offer for Ireland striker Adam Idah considerably, if they want to land the striker on a permanent basis from Norwich City.

According to reports in England on Wednesday, the Bhoys kicked off their effort to sign last season's loan star with a £4m (€4.72m) bid.

However, Norwich will want considerably more than that for a forward who lit up Celtic Park last season after moving north of the border at the end of the January transfer window.

Idah scored nine goals, including some crucial strikes in their race to the Scottish Premiership title, and he also netted the winner in the Scottish Cup final against Rangers.

Bhoys boss Brendan Rodgers wants to secure the Cork native on a permanent deal and a second bid is almost certain to land on the Canaries' desk.

New Norwich boss Johannes Hoff Thorup is thought to be eager to hold onto the 23-year-old - adding a further premium to any potential transfer fee.

Also, Idah's contract doesn't expire until the summer of 2028.

Rodgers described Idah as "the real catalyst" for Celtic during the second-half of the season.
