Amanda Balionis will be back on TV screens at this week's John Deere Classic in Silvis, Illinois as the PGA Tour makes a return to TPC Deere Run.

Having established herself as a key figure in golf broadcasting, Balionis will be resuming her role as CBS's go-to interviewer for the PGA Tour. She most recently featured at last week's Rocket Mortgage Classic at Detroit Golf Club, with her on-screen chats including eventual champion Cam Davis.

And like those in action, Balionis is straight back on the road, after taking to Instagram to share her next trip to Illinois. Posting a photo with her team she wrote: "That is a wrap from Detroit with the best traveling circus, see ya in Silvis, Illinois squad!"

Rory McIlroy - who was previously rumoured to have a romantic connection with Balionis, will not be competing at Deere Run. Following the cancellation of his planned divorce from wife Erica Stoll, McIlroy's most recent tournament was last month's US Open, which ended in disappointment for the golfer from Northern Ireland.

McIlroy was on the brink of his first major championship win in a decade at Pinehurst No. 2, leading Bryson DeChambeau by two shots with just five holes remaining. However, the 2011 champion's game took a turn for the worse as he bogeyed three of his last four holes, losing his grip on the lead.

McIlroy missed two short putts at the 15th and 18t, with his putter failing him at the most crucial moment in North Carolina. For the first time this season, McIlroy missed a putt inside three feet at the 15th hole, having previously made all 496 attempts from within that distance.

Another missed short putt on his final hole of the week sealed his fate, as DeChambeau was crowned champion. A disheartened McIlroy swiftly left the North Carolina site, skipping his post-round media duties, before finally breaking his silence in a statement the following day.

The Northern Irishman confirmed he would be taking a break from competition before returning for the Scottish Open on July 11. "Firstly, I'd like to congratulate Bryson. He is a worthy champion and exactly what professional golf needs right now. I think we can all agree on that," McIlroy stated on social media.

He later added: "I'm going to take a few weeks away from the game to process everything and build myself back up for my defence of the Genesis Scottish Open and The Open at Royal Troon."
