Quotes corner - Ian Garry eager to show his skills to the world

"MVP is someone who you have to understand that his game is just to completely try and frustrate you. And when you can understand that prior to fight night, it becomes a hell of a lot easier and everything starts to open up," said a relaxed Garry, who revealed that he has spent most weekends of this fight-camp playing golf with his friends.

"So for me, I know how elite I am. I know how unbelievable my reading is. I'm aware of how good my vision is and I just don't genuinely see him having any threats. Nothing. I just don't see anything. You can sit down and say 'he's got this fast movement etc.' But, anything you say, I have a response.

"And it's not out of being egotistical. It's like 'he's got this awkward striking style,' well so do I. Look at what I have done to people in the UFC and through my entire career. I have phenomenal striking. 'But he's fast,' He's not as fast as me. I'm literally 11 years younger, hungrier, I've got more to prove.

"He's coming in here off a career in Bellator trying to prove that what he did there was still elite. I'm coming in here to prove that I'm one of the best to ever do it. It's a very different path that we're on, and I'm going to show him on Saturday night that I'm just at a different level."
