Conor McGregor shows off drama

Conor McGregor has shown off a dramatic new look just days after his UFC 303 fight with Michael Chandler was cancelled.

The Dubliner was set to return to the Octagon almost three years after his last fight, when he suffered a broken leg in his defeat to Dustin Poirier, later this month in Las Vegas. However, the June 29 bout was cancelled last week due to an injury suffered by McGregor.

Breaking his silence on the fight cancellation over the weekend, the former two-weight champion wrote: "Very tough to be ruled out of my scheduled return bout. I picked up an injury prior to the press conference that required more time to heal than was available to me.

"The decision to postpone the fight was not made lightly, but one made in consultation with my doctors, the UFC, and my team. My fans and opponent deserve me at my best for this fight and we will get there! Thank you for the messages of support, I am in good spirits and confident I’ll be back!"

And in another social media post on Sunday, McGregor showed off a new bald look as he shared a number of photos with his youngest son Rian. He commented on the post: "Happy Father’s Day World."

Among those to comment on the post was the Notorious' fiancee Dee Devlin. She wrote: "The coolest of the cool!! The best day celebrating you Daddy!!"

Meanwhile, former UFC star Daniel Cormier believes that we may have seen McGregor fight for the last time.

"This guy lives the biggest life in the world," Cormier said of McGregor on his YouTube channel. "He lives a life that’s so extravagant, that’s so fun, that is so filled with adventure and other things, I don't know people could blame him if he wants to walk away from this. Michael Chandler does not live that life. Michael Chandler still needs to fight. It seems like he needs Conor McGregor but I don't know that he does... He's got some things to weigh going forward because I don’t know that he should wait anymore.

"I think it’s time to move off of this, and I believe that the overwhelming sentiment is that he's [McGregor] done. I thought Conor McGregor was going to come back because, to me, Conor McGregor is a fighter. I know skill-for-skill, the Conor McGregor of 2015 isn’t the same guy ... I just don’t know that he wants to fight, especially right now. I think most people are very skeptical that we will see Conor McGregor in 2024, and if we don’t, the more time that passes the less likely it is that he ever steps in the octagon again."
