The permutations for Group Three are varied, but both Tyrone and Cork will be vying for top spot when the final tallies are in later this afternoon as they go head-to-head in Tullamore.
The Rebels are in pole position after back-to-back wins over Clare and Donegal while Tyrone bounced back from their round one loss to the Ulster champions with a 14-point win over Clare last time out.
That facile victory in Omagh has given Tyrone the chance to top the group and progress straight through to the quarter-final.
While Cork will top the group with a win or a draw, Tyrone’s fate will depend on Donegal’s result against Clare.
As things stand, the Red Hands have a better scoring difference than Donegal, but only by two points so a big win over Clare for Jim McGuinness’s side would give them a chance of finishing in first provided Cork are beaten.
John Cleary’s side will also enjoy the backing of the majority of supporters at Glenisk O’Connor Park with the game forming a double-header with the hurling preliminary quarter-final between Offaly and Cork.
We’ll have all the latest build-up and team news ahead of throw-in at 3pm. The match is being streamed live on GAAGO.
