Darts fans were left slamming the “sickening” drinks prices at the Premier League Darts final at the O2 as Luke Littler stormed to victory.

The 17-week tournament came to an end on Thursday evening in London. Luke Littler continued his dream debut year with the PDC by claiming victory.

The 17-year-old saw off World Championship final opponent Luke Humphries 11-7 in the final - also hitting a perfect nine-darter in the process. Unfortunately, due to his age, Littler was not able to celebrate with a drink.

And some fans at the O2 might have also chosen to abstain given the prices in the arena. Punters were forced to pay £8.95 for a pint of beer, while a cider was the same price.

It was even more expensive to buy the more premium drinks. Camden Pale Ale and Camden Hells Lager were priced at £9.25 and £9.50 respectively, while a pint of Thatchers Fusion cost £9.25.

Amusingly, the organisers showed the price of two of each drink which was simply double the price, rather than a deal. Fans took to social media to express their disgust at the pricing.

One supporter responded: "Daylight robbery!!!!!!” while another said: "The cheek of them to put the two-pint price there like they’ve got a deal on."

The criticism continued to come throughout the evening. Another fan wrote: "Not even a deal on the two pinter." A final supporter said: "Sickening."

While Littler did not have a drink on the evening, he still made sure to mark the occasion as he lifted the Premier League trophy. Speaking to Sky Sports after his success, he said: “I just want to say one thing: for all the doubters, hello!

"I’ve just picked up this [waves trophy] – you’re not doubting any more! It’s so good to win in front of my family, my girlfriend and my manager. I just said to Luke, ‘I don’t know what to do!’

“I’m just enjoying it. I’ve been practicing really hard today. You could probably see it on the oche, I didn’t even want to blink. All the hard work goes into this.”

Asked how the win will change him, Littler responded: “I don’t know. I’m a major winner now, I can put my name on the list of all the other major winners. I can’t wait to go to New York next week and then have a week off in Orlando.

“Like Luke [Humphries] said, hopefully we’ll meet in many finals, and now it’s 1-1 in major finals! Ah, I don’t know what to say…”
