Lord of the Dance star Michael Flatley has been announced as the first guest of the final Late Late Show of the season.

Host Patrick Kielty ends his first season presenting the show on Friday night, since taking over from Ryan Tubridy last September.

RTE revealed Flatley is the first guest on the line-up for the final episode of this season of the station's flagship Friday night chat-show.

In a video posted on the Late Late Show's Instagram account, Kielty is seen walking into a dressing room filled with balloons.

But he quickly realises that the dressing room is for Flatley and is celebrating 30 years since Riverdance burst onto our screens.

Flatley will chat to Kielty about his mammoth career as well his new venture, launching his own whiskey brand.

RTE have yet to reveal the rest of the line-up on the chat show, keeping guests closely under wraps.

It comes after the Riverdance star was pictured pouring a pint of Guinness at Westlife singer Nicky Byrne's home earlier this week.

The Dublin singer shared a video of their encounter on Instagram, showing the world-famous dancer the ropes before closely inspecting his handiwork.

The pair then took swigs out of the glasses together, with Nicky adding a sticker reading: “Sláinte”.

The Dubliner set the video to the Lord of the Dance theme in tribute to its creator.

Captioning the post, he wrote: “The fastest feet on the planet and not bad at Guinness pouring either!

“Thanks for stopping by Michael and what a great chat we had! #LordOfTheDance #Riverdance #FeetOfFlames.

“A true Irish Legend”.

Flatley was the latest of Nicky’s celebrity pals to join him at his personal pub at his Malahide home, with Take That’s Gary Barlow calling in for a pint a few weeks back.
