Mike Tyson is eating raw meat ahead of his fight with Jake Paul.

Heavyweight legend Tyson will take on social media star Paul in Texas in July in a controversial boxing fight which was last week confirmed as a professional bout. The rivals will meet in the ring for eight two-minute rounds with the result going on their respective records.

Paul will have a near 30-year age advantage on the night with Tyson pulling on his gloves at the age of 58, four years after he last fought, and almost 20 years since his last professional outing.

Tyson has posted several videos of his training sessions which, while showing him punching hard and at speed, are only a few seconds long, raising questions as to how stamina. But asked on the Damon Elliott Show why he was looking so good, Tyson said: "Raw meat. I have to eat it now because my opponent is going to be raw meat."

Last month, Tyson revealed he had given up sex and smoking weed ahead of his return. "I'm living my life disciplined now, so I'm fight disciplined now. In probably six weeks, I haven't gotten high or had sex. It's just discipline, it's doing what you hate to do but doing it like I love it. I hate not being able to not to smoke but I'm doing it like I love it. I hate not being able to sleep with my life but I'm doing it like I love it, because I want it I won't do it," he told Forbes.

While Tyson reigned as heavyweight world champion, Paul has fought 10 times as a 'professional', winning 10, with his sole defeat coming against Tommy Fury last year. His record is mainly made up of fights against sportsmen from other disciplines and former MMA fighters.

Tyson ended his 15-year retirement when he returned to the ring in 2020 against Roy Jones Jr. The legends fought to a bore draw over eight rounds in a fight which had a similar rule set to those which will be in place when Tyson fights Paul.
