Five-time All-Ireland winner Cian Lynch and his girlfriend have revealed they are expecting twins later this year.

The Limerick GAA star and his partner Dayna Slattery shared a lovely post on social media on Tuesday to announce the news.

Cian shared a picture showing off Dayna's baby bump on Instagram as they enjoyed a lazy day together. He could be seen with his hand resting on her growing belly, reports RSVP Live.

The father to be simply captioned the image to say: "When 2 becomes 4."

The Patrickswell man and his belle went public with their relationship last year when they stepped out for Limerick captain Declan Hannon's wedding to Today FM presenter Louise Cantillon.

Before stepping out together for the first time, Cian was previously very private about his romantic life and his life away from the world of GAA.

Asked if he had a girlfriend, Cian previously told RSVP Live: "No, I am not so if there is anyone out there…

"It is difficult to find a relationship especially when you are missing out on nights out in college and the natural engagement of meeting people in a social setting.

"You never know who you might meet on a night out!"

Opening up about using online dating apps, he joked: "I can’t say that I do and I have to let on that I don’t anyway [laughs]."

It is not currently known when exactly the couple will welcome their little bundles of joy.
