RTÉ star Miriam O’Callaghan has shared her delight that her son is moving back home after moving to Australia.

The Prime Time host’s son moved Down Under a year and a half ago. Sharing a video with her Instagram followers as she stood in the arrival halls at Dublin Airport on Tuesday afternoon, she said: “Very excited! Collecting one of my sons from Dublin Airport - he's been in Australia and New Zealand for almost a year and a half.

“It's the longest I've ever been apart from one of my children. When I get him home, I am locking him in his bedroom and throwing the key away,” she joked.

The host previously revealed she lights candles for all of her eight children in her local church every day. She told VIP Magazine at the time: "My son is off to Australia and I was thinking, 'Will I ever make the effort to go during the year?' And I am thinking 'No!' Why not?

"It is just so far away! I am happy just to go to... Rathmines [laughs]! I am not hugely adventurous, I don't really like going away. Every day for the past two years I try to light a candle in the church on the corner for my kids.

"My dreams for them are that they stay healthy and happy and that they meet nice people because your life partner is the most important decision in your life - if you choose to have one."
