Fixture details confirmed for crunch Galway versus Derry All-Ireland fixture
Huge Group 1 opener, that is likely to define the course of Galway and Derry's seasons, is just 11 days away
Derry and Galway will face off at 5.30pm on Saturday week at Pearse Stadium in their eagerly awaited All-Ireland series opener with the game live on GAAGO.
The sides met in the 2022 All-Ireland semi-final with Galway emerging victorious thanks to a two goal Damien Comer blast.
Mickey Harte's Oak Leaf men were beaten in the Ulster quarter-final by Donegal but have had a month to prime themselves for a fresh assault on the Sam Maguire.
Galway, who defeated Mayo in last weekend's Connacht final, have a fortnight to gear up for a massive fixture.
Whoever tops the group will go straight into the All-Ireland quarter-finals, avoiding the preliminary round and almost certainly avoiding Dublin and Kerry until the All-Ireland semi-finals at the earliest.
The other sides in the group are Westmeath and the beaten Ulster finalists - Armagh or Donegal.
Kerry will host Monaghan on Saturday week at Fitzgerald Stadium with a 3pm throw-in. The game is live on GAAGO.
