RTE has released its weekend ratings and they don't make for pleasant reading for some high-profile shows

Hundreds of thousands of viewers have turned off Doireann Garrihy, Carl Mullan and Donncha O’Callaghan’s hidden camera show since its debut, the Irish Mirror can reveal.

The Full Irish Hidden Camera Show, which airs on Sunday nights, started on a high, garnering an average audience of around 344,000.

But figures from RTÉ revealed that as many as 169,000 viewers tuned into the show on Sunday night – a 175,000 drop since the series began.

A spokesman for RTÉ said: “Sunday night's episode of The Full Irish Hidden Camera Show had an average audience of 169,000 viewers (Live Plus VOSDAL) on RTÉ One and RTÉ One + 1.

“It was watched by 17 per cent of the available audience on RTÉ One. This episode has 4,700 streams to date on RTÉ Player.”

Elsewhere, the second last episode of this season of the Late Late Show saw an average audience of 418,000 people tuning in – an increase of 32,000 extra viewers compared to the previous week.

“The Late Late Show on Friday night had an average audience 418,000 on RTÉ One and RTÉ One + 1 with a 40 per cent audience share. On RTÉ Player, there have been over 27,700 streams to date.”

And Brendan Courtney’s Keys To My Life episode was watched by an average of 211,000 viewers across RTÉ One and RTÉ One + 1 – a drop of 54,000 viewers.

The RTÉ spokesman added: “The penultimate episode of this series of Keys to my Life was watched by an average audience of 211,000 viewers on RTÉ One and RTÉ One +1 with 24 per cent of the available audience watching on RTÉ One. On RTÉ Player, this programme has generated 3,600 streams to date.”
