A man has shared his concern after hearing the name his brother and sister-in-law have picked out for their baby boy - saying it could result in him being bullied at school

While some parents share their baby's name soon after announcing their pregnancy, others keep it under wraps until their child's birth. One father-to-be decided to do the former admitting he couldn't keep his son's moniker a secret from his brother any longer.

However, the 'grand reveal' didn't go exactly to plan, as his brother raised his concerns over the name saying it could lead to him being bullied in school. On Reddit, he said: "My brother and his wife are having their first child together this summer. Everyone is very excited for the baby to arrive, and I’m happy for them.

"When my brother told me the name options for a boy or a girl, I thought the name for a girl was cute, Charlie, but was dumbfounded when he shared the name for a boy. Landon Cash...

"I asked him if he thought the first and middle name together sounded like a name for a rapper (Landin’ Cash)."

The father-to-be says he never considered this connection and raised it with his wife to see what she thought. He said: "He responded with 'Oh! Haha, I didn’t even think of that. Yeah, maybe.' I was still confused because he didn’t seem bothered by it at all. Some time has passed and it was announced they are having a boy.

"They’re still firm on the name, but have now updated the spelling of Landon to Landyn, per his wife’s wishes." Wanting to know what others think of the name, the man asked Reddit users: "So what do we think? Will my nephew get bullied for this tragediegh or will his classmates think it’s cool?"

Commenting on his post, one user said: "Landyn is stupid. Landon Cash is meh." Another user added: "I’ve heard a hell of a lot worse than Landon Cash but it is a silly name." A third user said: "I have a coworker with a son named Landon. He does not get bullied. As for the middle name, I think it's silly but it doesn't matter. This sub puts a lot of emphasis on middle names, but in my experience, I know almost no one who uses their middle name in real life."
