The Limerick Lotto player who snagged a whopping win of more than €8.9 million has yet to come forward with the winning ticket.

A player who purchased their ticket at the GO Stores in Garryowen became the latest National Lottery multi-millionaire after winning the €8,970,934 jackpot in the Saturday 20 April draw.

The astonishing win marked the third Lotto jackpot win of 2024 following wins by players in Dublin and Louth earlier in the year.

The Limerick City store was also the selling location for one of the largest wins in National Lottery history.

Dolores McNamara famously became the first EuroMillions jackpot winner in Ireland after purchasing her winning €115 million ticket at the same Garryowen store in July 2005 to become the biggest lottery winner ever seen in Europe at the time.

National Lottery spokesperson, Sarah Orr, urged players who may have purchased their tickets at the famous Limerick City store to check their tickets very carefully: “Lotto players in Limerick have enjoyed two huge wins in recent times.

“We were thrilled to hear from the Lotto Plus 1 top prize winner who won €1 million in the 9th March draw and we are now making arrangements for them to visit our Head Office to pick up their huge amount.

“But there’s still one more Treaty County player who we are eager to hear from! The latest Lotto jackpot winner who scooped over €8.9 million in the 20 April draw is yet to contact our prize claims team.

"The winning ticket was purchased at the Garryowen store which was made famous back in 2005 after selling the €115 million EuroMillions ticket to Ireland’s first-ever EuroMillions jackpot winner, Dolores McNamara.

“Any of our players who may have popped into the Limerick City store to purchase their tickets for the Saturday night draw should check their tickets as one person has an incredible amount waiting for them.

“The winner should sign the back of their ticket and contact our claims team on 1800 666 222 or email claims@lottery.ie and arrangements will be made for them to visit Lotto HQ.”

Meanwhile, the National Lottery has confirmed that the Limerick Lotto Plus 1 winner from the Saturday, March 9 draw has come forward and arrangements are now being made for them to claim their life-changing prize in Lotto HQ.

The Treaty County player scooped the top prize amount of €1 million after purchasing their winning ticket at the Filling Station store located on Main Street in the village of Oola for the Saturday night draw.
