Prince William and Princess Kate won't meet with Prince Harry when he visits the UK next month.

The Duke of Sussex is in the UK in May to celebrate ten years of the Invictus Games and will attend the Service of Thanksgiving at St Paul’s Cathedral, on Wednesday May 8, which will mark the 10th anniversary of the games for injured servicemen and women. Whilst in the UK he isn't expected to see or meet with his older brother or his sister-in-law with sources close to the Prince and Princess of Wales revealing the couple still feel 'betrayed' by Harry.

Harry's plans to visit the UK, which have been known for the past few months, are thought to be going ahead but William will make no attempt to see his brother as he focuses on 'protecting his wife and family from stressful situations'.

Friends of the couple have told The Daily Beast : "Both sides understand each other’s position clearly now. William and Catherine felt completely betrayed by Harry’s memoir. They don’t speak to Harry and Meghan, and they are certainly not about to start when Catherine is at her most vulnerable."

Another source told the outlet: "William and Kate have accepted it and moved on. Cancer puts things in perspective. William respects his father’s wish to reconcile with his son, but his focus now is on protecting his family from stressful situations."

Previously it was thought if Harry and William do meet, it would be 'carefully choreographed' between the two estranged brothers. Royal expert and author Tom Quinn exclusively told the Mirror : "Given Kate's cancer diagnosis, Harry will certainly make efforts to see his brother and Kate when he returns to the UK in May – if it happens at all it's to be a very brief carefully choreographed meeting and organised to last a short time so that the brothers can avoid any difficult conversations."

Quinn added: "At the same time Harry knows how it will look if he comes back to the UK and doesn’t see his brother and Kate. It’s going to be a very awkward time."

Harry and William have held a tense and distanced relationship wince Harry and wife Meghan Markle stepped down from the royal family in 2020. Following their exit the couple opened up in interviews and the media detailing their experience of the royal family, with some controversial comments that appeared to have caused a rift in the family.

The Mirror has approached Kensington Palace for comment on this story.
