Mohamed Salah declared “if I speak today there will be fire ” as he left London Stadium following a heated touchline row with Jurgen Klopp during Liverpool ’s 2-2 draw with West Ham.

The Egypt star was seen shouting at Klopp as he waited to come on as a substitute just as Michail Antonio levelled for the Hammers and he was held back by team mate Darwin Nunez as the row threatened to boil over.

The draw has all but ended the Reds’ title hopes and as Salah navigated his way through the mixed zone on his way out of the stadium, he made his displeasure clear.

At the same time, Klopp was busy telling his post-match press conference, when asked if he felt the issue was closed: "That's my impression, yes."

And when asked if he could speak to media before boarding the bus home, Salah declined the opportunity because he was worried that whatever he said would be too explosive.

Salah and Klopp found themselves embroiled in a furious touchline exchange when Liverpool conceded their second goal against West Ham United.

The forward was about to come on as part of a triple substitution as Liverpool sought to keep their slim Premier League title hopes alive. But when Antonio headed home Jarrod Bowen ’s cross to make it 2-2, TV cameras picked up Salah and Klopp exchanging angry words with one another.

Darwin Nunez, who was also coming on as part of the triple change, was then seen intervening - stretching an arm out in an attempt to diffuse Salah.

The argument seems to have come because of a delay in the substitutions being made, though it was unclear who delivered the first line of anger.

Salah eventually entered the fray with nine minutes of the game remaining. Bowen had put West Ham in front near the end of a low quality first half before Andy Robertson regained parity for the Reds. And Liverpool, who had made five changes from the midweek Merseyside derby defeat at Everton, went in front when Cody Gakpo's shot took three deflections off Hammers players before ending up in the net.

But Antonio’s header means Liverpool will now require an almighty collapse from Arsenal and Manchester City if Klopp is to sign off with a second Premier League title. They now sit third, two points behind the Gunners with an extra game played.
